CEAP RECEIVES 850 POUNDS OF FOOD FROM ARBOR LAKES HOTELS
Brooklyn Park, MN, December 29th, 2008 – Community Emergency Assistance Program (CEAP) received 850 pounds of food from the Arbor Lakes Hotels during the month of December. The donations were collected through the Arbor Lakes Hotels Food Drive, held from November 10th, 2008 through December 17th, 2008.
The drive was held at four hotels in Maple Grove owned by Torgerson Properties, the Courtyard by Marriott, the Holiday Inn & Suites, the Hampton Inn and the Staybridge Suites. In exchange for non-perishable food items, donors were given 50% off vouchers for a night’s stay at a Torgerson Properties’ Hotel. Donors were also entered into a drawing for prizes, including additional hotel stays, Pittsburgh Blue gift cards, Houlihan’s, Three Squares, Bella Sera, Biaggis and Dave and Busters.
“We saw a tremendous response from our employees, clients, business partners and members of the local community”, said Sherry Tollette, director of sales at Hampton Inn Maple Grove. “We are grateful for all the donations we received on behalf of CEAP and those in need this holiday season.”
The event was held to make a difference in the lives of local families in need during CEAP’s busiest time of year. Their two offices, in Brooklyn Park and Blaine, give nearly 14,000 pounds of food to clients weekly. In addition, CEAP is seeing an average of 184 more families each month compared to last year.
CEAP and the Arbor Lakes Hotels would like to thank the community at large for their charity and compassion for those less fortunate. Every donation, no matter the size, truly makes the holiday season a little brighter for those in need.
